Notes
- Abstract:
- Below the platform on which the corpse of the deceased is placed, are two wooden grave effigies with carved faces. They wear the dress and ornaments that would have been worn in life, and the one on the left carries a dao and spear. The effigies act as channels for the fertility, or potency, of the deceased represented by the effigy to return to the soil and thus benefit the fertility of the village. ( en )
