, 1951 Report from Miss Avice M. Cam of Christ Church, Mandalay, Burma.. It .is almost a year now since I came back to Mandalay. It's not easy to judge what this year's work has counted for. In many ways life 'i is so full of.difficulties and frustrations one is easily tempted to feel that nothing has been done. But the nain object for which .I came up here was to. try and help restart some form of medical work. In . Februairy I was put on to the joint Committee which had been planning for over two years to open a Union Hospital at the former S.P.G. Queen Alexandra Hospital. The buildings had not yet been de-requisitioned and the hospital itself was still occupied by St.Peter's E. C. School, the compound was in a really dreadful state and our damaged buildings occupied by squatters of an undesirable type. At the first Committee meeting I asked permission to get the-conpound fenced ill and the condemned buildings demolished without waj-fc-
