- Abstract:
- Altered plans for his children’s future in view of death of his brother Alexander of Glasgow. Long since letters received,so few traders now calling there owing to rush to California. Stolen vessel bound for California being sent back to Sydney by the British Consul. Wreck of another vessel bound for California, but rescue of all 70 on board by the natives. Further fighting unlikely, but political settlement not yet reached. Progress of work on the Scriptures. ( en )
