Thiruvalluvar, also spelled Tiruvaḷḷuvar or Tiruvalluvar in English and also known as Valluvar, திருவள்ளுவர் in Tamil, تروولور‏ in Pashto, was a Tamil poet and philosopher. The name Thiruvalluvar (lit. Saint Valluvar) was first mentioned in the later text Tiruvalluva Maalai. Thiruvalluvar has been located on the campus of SOAS University of London since 1996. Thiruvalluvar Celebration Day is held annually on 13 May.
