The lecture covers Djam's views on the formation of the Iranian armed forces under Reza Shah; command and control arrangements under Rezah Shah; Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran; United Sates assistance to the Iranian armed forces following the Second World War; Djam's criticism in the post war period on the lack of 'force objective', 'final objective', political guidance, command structure; the constitutional positon of the armed forces in relation to the Shah and civilian government; and the role of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in lead up to 1979 revolution.
