|a Condition of the mission station. Alteration and repair of Chapel. Financial contribution of congregation. Practicability of a mission station at Mahaica now that there is a Wesleyan chapel there - identfies a possible site in the vicinity (4-5 miles away). He reports approaches from enslaved people in the region for the establishment of a mission church and costs of doing so. Asks the Directors to turn their attention to the area for expansion of the mission work. Refers to J. Gladstone Esq. of Liverpool and asks for Directors to ask him to authorise the writer to teach the enslaved people on his plantation (3-400 people on the plantation adjoining Le Resouuvenir). Also a need for a schoolmaster to teach the 'great number of Creoles under 10 years of age'. |
