520 3    |a Nimeh was born in Lebanon in 1958, after her father fled there from Jordan following the repression of the Jordanian Nationalist Movement in 1957. Her mother was a nurse. Her family eventually moved to Kuwait, where she stayed until the 1990 invasion by Saddam Hussein. As a result, she moved back to Jordan with her husband and children. After 2000, Nimeh began blogging about politics and women's issues. In particular, as a Jordanian woman married to a foreigner, she was particularly concerned about the impacts on her children and herself of the government’s refusal to allow Jordanian women to pass on their nationality to their children. Around 2010, she began a campaign, "My mother is Jordanian and her nationality is my right". In 2011, with the Arab uprisings occurring, she seized the opportunity to take her online campaign to the streets and organized several demonstrations for the rights of Jordanian women to pass on their nationality. Nimeh passed away in 2015.
