520 3    |a Dima was born in Hebron, on the West Bank, and grew up in Amman. Both her parents were physicians. She has been politically active since her teen years, organising events and demonstrations at her school. At university, she was a member of the students' council, working with the Islamist movement. She is a member of the Islamic Action Front, has been elected to the Shura Council and is active in the women's section. She actively participated in the Arab uprisings, going to protests and demonstrations and calling for political reforms. Towards this end, she created the Jordanian Women for Reform. In working for women's rights, she has found that Jordanian feminist organisations have not been cooperative in developing relationships with Islamist women. She sees many of these groups as pushing a Western agenda on women's rights, particularly with regard to the promotion of CEDAW. She believes that it is necessary to campaign against negative ‘traditions’ in Jordanian society, such as, depriving women of their inheritance in line with Islamic law. She also believes that there should be more women in politics.
