Admiral Sir Charles Elliot (1801-1875) was a British Royal Navy officer, diplomat, and colonial administrator. From 1830 to 1833, he was Protector of Slaves in Guiana. In 1841, he became the first Administrator of Hong Kong. He was a key founder in the establishment of Hong Kong as a British colony.
