Trinidad was a separate British colony until 1889, when it joined the colony of Tobago to form the (united) colony of Trinidad and Tobago.

'British Guayana' [sic] was officially established as British Guiana in 1831, uniting the colonies of Essequibo-Demerara and Berbice. British Guiana would later gain independence on 26 May 1966 as Guyana.
