THECHEFOOSCHOOLS (Founded in 1880)
Chefoo was established by the China Inland Mission at Chefoo (Yantai) in Northern China to provide an education for the children ot missionaries and the business and diplomatic communities. In 1951 the school left China to relocate in South East Asia. One Chetoo Schools is currently operating as a junior school in Malaysia under the Overseas Missionary Fellowship.

To operate as an association for all former scholars and past and present members of the staffs of the Chefoo Schools.
To sustain interest amongst its members in matters concerning the Schools and in one another To afford means whereby its members are kept in touch with each other and with the Schools.
To promote friendly relationship between all persons in any way connected with the Schools.

“...chose a dumper-truck cake and we all went out for a ‘sushi’ meal. Even though the schedule is tight (leave 7.30am and return approx 4.30pm) we are still able to have quiet time (devotions) before 7am breakfast and Evening Prayers after the evening meal, when people within the mission who are sick are regularly prayed for.
A real joy and excitement for us all is the new electric piano that will be arriving this month (November). This has been bought with generous gifts from the Chefoo Schools Association in memory of David Michell. Six out of our seven students take piano lessons so the piano will be well used. Thank you.

FAITH ACADEMY
The life of learning continues for us Chefusians here at the OMF dorm at Faith Academy. Although our teachers may not believe it, we are learning lessons of life even without our teachers around such as on typhoon days. We have had three of them so far this year. “...doing a Chateaux and Relais du Silence route. The TGV back from Antibes was hardly Grande Vitesse, as our engine suffered heat stroke near Lyon (due to the May heat wave!), and we all changed to a local limp into Paris.
In August we were in England again, and attended the VJ Day demo in front o‘ the Japanese Embassy in Piccadilly. A real hoot - marching along and shoutinc bellicose slogans through bullhorns to the astonishment and consternation of the tourists. As the US
co-ordinator for the Association of British Civilian Internees etc.
Joanne and I attended, sporting large placards which I carefully lettered in
Japanese demanding immediate apologies and
recompense for , ,, , ,

Afterwards, we met NORMAN and ESTELLE CLIFF again, 50 years on, ove-a Chinese luncheon on Shaftsbury Avenue. Later, Norman performed yeoma' service at the Cenotaph.
