“...chose a dumper-truck cake and we all went out for a ‘sushi’ meal. Even though the schedule is tight (leave 7.30am and return approx 4.30pm) we are still able to have quiet time (devotions) before 7am breakfast and Evening Prayers after the evening meal, when people within the mission who are sick are regularly prayed for. A real joy and excitement for us all is the new electric piano that will be arriving this month (November). This has been bought with generous gifts from the Chefoo Schools Association in memory of David Michell. Six out of our seven students take piano lessons so the piano will be well used. Thank you. The TGV back from Antibes was hardly Grande Vitesse, as our engine suffered heat stroke near Lyon (due to the May heat wave!), and we all changed to a local limp into Paris. In August we were in England again, and attended the VJ Day demo in front o‘ the Japanese Embassy in Piccadilly. A real hoot - marching along and shoutinc bellicose slogans through bullhorns to the astonishment and consternation of the tourists.
