Norman Pateman, whose duties included helping Chefoo boys and girls, when they first came to Britain, in any way possible. Mr. Pateman writes of how MISS RIDGE herself took the liveliest personal interest in each one of these young Chefusians, an interest which she maintained to the end. “...RACHEL (NICOLL) MORRISON was unable to attend the Reunion as she was busy that day organizing a Youth Conference in connection with her job. She lives at 31 Silverknowes View, Edinburgh, EH4 5PL and works in the offices of the Scottish Association for Mental Health as Conference Secretary. This Conference "Youth Impact on Mental Health - What has it to do with me?" was a follow-up of one held last May when 12 young people told of their contribution through voluntary organizations in various Social fields. She found it very interesting and most encouraging. RACHEL has been with this Association for one year. Before that she supervised a Play Group but was beginning to feel that as a Granny she should do something less strenuous! RACHEL’s husband has been working in the H.Q. of the Church of Scotland for 4 years now. Their son George takes up a Consultant-ship in Plymouth in March. Dorothy is a Collector of Taxes in the Southern London area. Neil has been accepted with the Civil Service to...”
