At some time during the past three months the thoughts of most of us must have winged back to the familiar, beloved “ Mem. Hall,”—built to the glory of God, and in memory of our Old Boys who laid down their lives in the last War. So we have put a picture of it right at the beginning of this News Letter, but otherwise, apart from items concerning our members on Active Service, In the A.R.P. or other National Service, you will find no talk about the War. It is too early for that. There are two photos in this number, entitled respectively “ Snowbound ” and “ Lost Lake.” They were taken a good many years ago by the father of a Chefoo boy who is now back on the mission field himself. They are Chefoo photos, though maybe you haven’t guessed just where they were taken ? Well, if truth be known, the snow picture is—well, turn to page 23 and you will see ! It is only to be expected that present conditions will have some effect on the activities of the Association, but it is our determination to keep the C.S.A. going even if *' black-outs ” and “ rationing ” may interfere with Reunions, etc. We—that is, the few remaining members of the Committee who are available—will endeavour to produce the Newsletter regularly, and through this means, keep us all in touch with each other. Circumstances beyond our control have caused a delay in the publication of this issue, but we are sure that members will understand if we find ourselves unable to do everything as we would wish in these somewhat difficult days. Committee. We accept with regret the resignation of Beresford Weller, the Reunions Secretary. A number of our members are on active service, but we shall continue to carry on the business of the Association with a smaller Committee for the time being. Winter Reunion. “...in the Civil Service.” JOHN WHITELAW is studying for Inter C.I.S. During the summer holidays he toured Belgium, and went over the borders into Holland, France and Luxembourg. When he is called up, he will probably go into the R.A. or Signals. REV. ANDREW WRIGHT, the minister of Tooting Junction Baptist Church, says the Church has about 350 members, and next January they celebrate their Diamond Jubilee. He is Secretary for the C.E. Convention and Evangelistic Secretary for the London Baptist Association. He has two children—a boy (8) and a girl (4) —who are at present away with their mother out of London. BERNARD WALKER is a Medical Officer in connection with a Mission in Arabia, a locum tenens for a Doctor on home leave. Where he is the climate is excellent. He lives 7,500 feet above sea level, which takes 15% more energy than to do the same work at sea level. He considers the Arab children do not compare favourably with the Chinese children !
