|a Text woven into as well as inscribed (yellow and black) on a silk roll mounted on paper, and organised in five sections of approximately 82 cm each, in five different colours (greyish purple, white, yellow, red and black). The greyish purple section may have been originally of a blue hue (seeing that the black section is also a bit faded and in general the colours are not very vibrant anymore).
Text is woven (in Chinese and Manchu) for the introductory formulas between the dragons, it is written for the rest of the document.
Manchu written text is yellow on greyish purple, and black on white and yellow segments.
Chinese written text is yellow on black, and black on red and yellow segments.
Additional text (black) inscribed on paper mounted onto the silk. |

|a Red imperial seals (Heirloom Seal of the Realm, [traditional] 傳國璽, [simplified] 传国玺), stamped at intervals.
On the upper and lower rim are two pairs of white dragons, one ascending and one descending, which enclose on the right end of the scroll the two characters "kao-ming" ("Patent by Ordinance") and on the left the same in Manchu writing. |
