We have had more debates this term than usual, and the subjects debated have ranged from local problems such as the suggestion that Vegetarianism should be in- troduced into the Schools, (this was rejected after a close Debate) to world policy, as in a debate on the proposal that the armies of the world should be limited in their armature to Air-guns: this pacific suggestion was approved by a small majority of the House. Other matters debated have been the lot of the Only Child, the effects of the Advance of Science on human happiness, the alarming growth of Communism in the School, whether Guy Fawkes was a Martyr, (in this debate Mr. Mellow scored heavily with some bogus facts...”
