“During the early years of Kaniska’s reign
'the statues of Kaniska, V’ima and the
young (!) Castana were erected in the royal
family temple at Mat (Mathura). As in
130 A. D. the Andhau inscriptions of the
Western Ksatrapas mention Castana as a
very old man, the theory of Sten Konow,
that the Kaniska era might begin 128/29
A. D., cannot be upheld.
