- General Note:
- In Bisipara, the buffalo sacrifice is a ritual offering to Tana penu, the earth divinity, during the Festival of Tana Penu. In former days, the sacrifice would have been human. Tana penu is also known as Tari or Tari penu. Tana Penu believed to be vindictive and vents her anger upon those who neglect her.
