Abstract:
The death toll from the Great Earthquake that struck on Saturday has exceeded 6,000, and injured thousands of people in 26 districts. The 7.9 Richter scale-earthquake was the strongest to strike Nepal after the earthquake in 1934 which claimed over 17,000 lives. Aftershocks continue to rattle the ground, as the country limps back to normal. CCTV cameras installed in various parts of Kathmandu managed to capture the moment of impact. These videos, released by Nepal Police show the horror when the earthquake struck at 11.58 AM on Saturday. -- Kathmandu Post, May 1, 2015. ( en )
