General Note:
Original bound in volume 1 of 3.
General Note:
Hand-drawn, with hand colouring.
General Note:
Also attributed to Octavian Dalvimart, engraved by various artists, and published by William Miller in a volume entitled 'Costume Of Turkey' (London, 1802). This is likely not the case as the style of this illustration is different from that of Dalvimart. Indeed, Dalvimart appears to have been a copist; his images and their settings bear a strong likeness to those of Cousinéry.
General Note:
This is potentially Muhammad Ali Pasha, Ottoman wali (governor) of Egypt 1805–49, a Kapudan Pasha born and raised in what is now Albania.
