There is a Girls’ School in Chefoo,
Though not very large it is true,
Seven forms it can boast
Twelve teachers at most,
This wonderful School at Chefoo.
A promising form is TIB.
As “green” as one might wish to see,
Our stuffing they take
Like biscuits and cake
These hopeful young sprites of TIB.
A superior set is TIA
With IIBs they disdain e’en to play
When prefects are out
They wander about
Taking corridor duty—they say.
A noisy young crowd is the Third
Queer sounds from their classroom are heard,
Their decree is the rule
For the whole Lower School
These experienced old folk of the Third.
There’s nothing to say of Form Four,
That the public have not heard before,
They clatter about
And raise such a shout
Those ubiquitous young imps of Form Four
And now we arrive in VB.
Who are working for Oxfords—you see.
Their hearts set on honours
They rise up “de bonnes heures’’
And swot in this form called VB.
There is a small form called VA.
Who’vo nothing to do all the day
So in their spare time...”
