TWO GEMS
It is rumoured that the Headmaster once invaded another
master’s room, owing to the fact that this master was sleeping in
the boys’ corridor. As the rising gong had sounded, the Head slapped
the toes protruding from the end of the bed and told him to get up,
thinking he was a boy. Whereupon the master cheerfully said, “Good
morning, sir’’ and the Head retired...”

is now having a short holiday before going into practice.
Majorie Moore finds life is just the same. She is in the second year
of her Nurses’ Training now, and is feeling quite ancient!
Ralph Peill is doing Final Year Medicine at Edinburgh.
Arnold Phillips has left Eltham College, and is now' doing first year
Medicine at Edinburgh.
AUSTRALIA.
Irene Burgess has finished her business course and is looking out
for a job.
Gordon and Phyllis Conway are thinking of taking up mission work
in China.
Kathleen Davies, who is a fully qualified nurse, is also thinking of
returning to China as a missionary.
Doris Embery has finished her training at the Methodist Babies’ Home.
Jean Gardiner has just started her training at the Methodist Babies’
Home.
Winifred Lack is working as a Junior teacher in Melbourne, and
taking subjects during evening classes, towards her Arts degree.
Mary Matthews is studying for her Kindergarten Teachers’ Certificate,
and is teaching, just now', in a country...”
