Notes
- Abstract:
- In this occasional poem, the poet asks for a safe journey for himself and his relation as they travel to Mecca. The poet writes that he will rest in Lamu before commencing the journey, which suggests residence in a coastal town north of Lamu. The poet narrates many aspects of pilgrimage to Mecca. He prays that in Mecca he may receive a sign that his prayers have been heard. He names attractive clothing associated with the journey, and he describes how he will be received on his return home. The poem is composed in a northern dialect. It ends abruptly. ( en )
