Notes

Abstract:
Boys from the age of roughly 8 years until marriage were living in the Morung. There is a high, jutting gable in front, and the eaves reach almost to the ground at the sides. Inside are sleeping benches ranged round the walls and two hearths - one near the back for the younger boys and the other near the front entrance for the more senior men. It is forbidden for women to enter the Morung. This photograph is probably not taken by J.P. Mills as it is not his handwriting on the back. ( en )
